Theory of operation
The IS215WETAH1C operates as a field signal conditioning and I/O concentration hub at Purdue Model Level 1, installed in the wind turbine nacelle or hub top box.
Downstream, it directly interfaces with harsh field devices such as pitch limit switches, blade position encoders, vibration sensors, and drive status relays . The module performs local signal debouncing, level conversion, over-current protection, and analog-to-digital conversion on these inputs.
Upstream, it transmits conditioned and digitized data to the main Mark VIe controller (e.g., UCV) over the high-speed IONet/UDH backplane . It simultaneously receives configuration and command data from the controller for execution . Full channel-to-backplane galvanic isolation blocks high-voltage transients and EMI, while its ruggedized design withstands extreme vibration, temperature cycling, and moisture in rotating nacelle environments.
