Core Description
The 106M1081-01 is a high-performance Bently Nevada Universal AC Power Input Module (PIM) designed for the 3500/15 power supply ecosystem. Fully compatible with the half-height rear rack configuration, this unit works seamlessly with the 106M1079-01 supply module to deliver exceptional voltage conditioning, active overvoltage fuse protection, and stable industrial energy distribution without disrupting active machinery protection operations.
Specific Application
Providing rear-panel line-voltage termination and surge conditioning for standard 110 to 220 Vac nominal industrial utility grids inside a 3500 protection rack.
Establishing an isolated, redundant power routing topology when installed behind duplicate, half-height 3500/15 primary and backup supply configurations.
Safe deployment inside hazardous plant zones requiring strict compliance with Class I, Division 2 and ATEX/IECEx Zone 2 spark-free safety standard approvals.

Installation & Troubleshooting FAQ
Q1: Does inserting or extracting a power module disrupt active machinery protection operations?
A: No. Removing or inserting either power supply module does not disrupt the operation of the rack as long as a second redundant power supply is installed and working.
Q2: What happens to the PIM if the incoming line utility experiences a sudden under-voltage state?
A: For all power supply options, an under-voltage condition does not cause physical harm to either the supply module or the Power Input Module.
Q3: How does the internal protection architecture respond to an incoming over-voltage surge?
A: An over-voltage condition triggers an automatic safety shutdown by forcing the dedicated protection fuse on the PIM to open, isolating downstream rack electronics .
Q4: What are the exact structural layout specifications when setting up a redundant power link?
A: The 3500 rack accommodates up to two power supplies simultaneously. When two modules are installed on the left side, the lower slot handles primary supply tracking while the upper slot functions as the backup source.
Q5: What hazardous environment certifications govern this specific module assembly?
A: The hardware is approved for Class I, Zone 2 (Ex nA nC ic IIC T4 Gc / Ex ec nC ic IIC T4 Gc) and Class I, Division 2 (Groups A, B, C, and D) hazardous zones when installed per the official regulatory drawings.
